GDG presents at the IWEA Offshore Wind Forum 2018

Paul Doherty, GDG's Managing Director presented today at the Offshore Wind Forum 2018 organised by the Irish Wind Energy Association - IWEA.

The focus of the event this year is on energy policy in relation to planning, grid and supports key for increased support and investment in Irish offshore wind and the opportunity to develop a robust supply chain. Topics covered on the day include the Marine Spatial Plan, the Maritime Area and Foreshore (Amendment) Bill (MAFA), grid integration and RESS.

Paul Doherty talked about 'Exploring the Irish seabed – Latest iCRAG research'. Earlier this year, GDG committed to undertake a joint research project in conjunction with the Irish Centre for Research in Applied Geosciences (iCRAG) to de-risk the Irish offshore wind sector by performing a geotechnical hazard classification for the Irish Sea.
