GDG Appoints New Managing Director

Specialist engineering and design consultancy, Gavin & Doherty Geosolutions (GDG), part of the Venterra Group, is delighted to announce the appointment of its new Managing Director, Dr Indrasenan Thusyanthan, who replaces Paul Doherty, founder (2011), who now sits on the board of GDG, as an executive director.

Dr Thusyanthan has extensive onshore and offshore project experience in conceptual to detailed design around the world and holds a first-class degree and PhD from the University of Cambridge. He has successfully delivered major projects in the energy sector, including leading the foundation design of St Brieuc wind farm in Brittany. Dr Thusyanthan is a recipient of the prestigious “John Henry King Medal” and “Bill Curtin Medal” from the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) UK. A Fellow of ICE and Chartered Marine Engineer, he also has experience as an expert witness in arbitrations.
Prior to joining GDG, Dr Thusyanthan was the Chief Geotechnical Engineer at Atkins, one of the world’s most respected design, engineering, and project management consultancies. He has also held several other key positions, including roles at Saudi Aramco and Acteon in Singapore, as well as lecturing at the University of Cambridge.
Supported by the wider GDG leadership team, Dr Thusyanthan will focus on driving the business forward with continued expansion and technical advancements in consultancy and design services.
