Round table event on piling safety

Two decades ago, a jolting incident involving a piling rig prompted the ground engineering sector to swiftly respond. The industry's urgency to enhance the safety of piling platforms has been reignited by recent occurrences of rig collapses.

GDG Managing Director (Onshore), Yvonne Ainsworth, joined leaders in the field of ground engineering for a round table discussion on improving the safety of piling platforms.

At the event, organised by Ground Engineering Magazine, Yvonne and fellow contributors, Derek Butcher, John Chick, Graham Hall, Andrew Heathcote, Steve Hadley, Yuli (Chaido) Doulala-Rigby and Dave Woods highlighted the pressing challenges including the quality of material used, the thicknesses of platforms, and the general procedures for designing platforms and getting them signed off.
