Ireland is not on track to meet binding Renewable Energy Targets or binding Emissions Reduction Targets in Agriculture/Transport/Heat, and missing these targets will cost the country millions. Wind energy is currently the largest contributing resource of renewable energy in the country and plays a crucial role in Ireland’s strategy to meet its targets.

With a view to exploring Ireland’s potential on offshore wind generation, Gavin & Doherty Geosolutions – GDG and the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland – SEAI are working on a gap analysis designed to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the offshore renewable-energy supply chain in the country. This initiative was mentioned in an article published yesterday by the, which can be viewed here.

Renewables and Offshore & Marine are some of GDG’s principle areas of expertise. Our design team has experience across a variety of wind energy and offshore & marine projects. Ultimately our objective is to de-risk projects for our clients, particularly those involving complex construction or challenging ground conditions.
