GDG is currently working on the Barnagh Greenway project in Limerick, where our team has recently completed a desk study, rock face hazard assessment and geotechnical interpretive report.

GDG is currently looking at the technical feasibility of incorporating the Barnagh Tunnel and Viewing Area into the Great Southern Greenway Limerick. The proposed section of greenway will run along a 1.4km section of old railway line which includes a spectacular rock cutting and 200m long stone arch tunnel. The scheme also includes upgrade of the existing viewing area and an underpass under the N21. Once complete this route will become an interesting amenity for cyclists and pedestrians alike.

Greenways are an exciting part of our transport infrastructure that continues to grow in Ireland and has helped boost the economy in areas where they have been developed. GDG is delighted to be involved in the Barnagh greenway project and hope to see many more of them developed in the future.
