GDG, along with collaborators at the Centre for Marine and Renewable Energy Ireland (MaREI), have been awarded a research grant of up to €200,000 by the Marine Institute under their Industry-Led Awards Research Programme. The two year project will comprise a morphodynamic study of the Irish Sea and will include predictive sediment transport modelling that will be used to characterise future seabed changes and to quantify the risk for future offshore wind developments.

The use of dynamic pile testing is a sometimes underused resource for assessing the suitability of pile foundations. The tests can be carried out during the pile installation for driven piles or relatively quickly afterwards for bored piles without the complexity of accommodating static load tests.
