GDG Wins Offshore Wind Champion Award for Leadership in Ireland’s Renewable Energy Sector

Gavin & Doherty Geosolutions (GDG), a Venterra Group company, has been named Offshore Wind Champion at the Irish Renewable Energy Awards 2025. The award recognises GDG’s critical contribution to advancing Ireland’s offshore wind sector through technical leadership, innovation and collaboration with government, agencies and industry.

Since 2010, GDG has delivered high-impact national and regional initiatives, including contributions to Ireland’s South Coast Designated Maritime Area Plan (SC-DMAP), the development of the Maritime Area Consent (MAC) technical criteria and assessment framework, grid and infrastructure analysis for the Irish Government and technical support for developers across Ireland.

“Winning the Offshore Wind Champion Award reflects the depth of technical expertise, strategic insight and collaboration that our teams bring to offshore wind development in Ireland and internationally. We’re proud to support government, industry and the wider renewable energy community as Ireland moves from ambition to delivery, and we look forward to continuing this work as the sector scales.”

Jamie MacDonald, Managing Director of GDG.

As part of Venterra Group, GDG remains committed to supporting Ireland’s policy development, informing national infrastructure plans and enabling innovation in next-generation technologies.
