Our clients include large civil and building contractors, renewable energy project developers and engineering consulting firms. We also offer forensic engineering and expert witness services to the Insurance and Legal sectors. Our principal areas of expertise are Infrastructure, Onshore Renewables, Ports and Harbour, Structures, Offshore and Research & Development.

Role description

As a Senior/Principal engineer you will be working closely with a passionate and ambitious team of design engineers to deliver innovative and optimised solutions. You will work on a variety of our onshore projects.

Candidates should be confident in leading projects, developing project specific solutions, client liaison and mentoring junior staff. Experience should either cover soil-structure interaction or earthworks design. GDG are involved in a wide variety of projects, e.g. infrastructure schemes, foundation and basement designs, energy from waste facilities, onshore wind farms, bespoke and complex foundation solutions modelled using FE software packages, ground improvements etc.

  • Client liaison and project management
  • Developing solutions to soil structure interaction problems

  • Pricing works/tendering
  • Financial control of project budgets
  • Mentoring junior staff
  • Business development

Expertise required

  • Good communication and presentation skills;
  • Design experience in relevant areas
  • Experience in Project/People Management.
  • A full clean driver’s licence preferred.

Education/Qualifications

  • MSc qualified
