Our clients include large civil and building contractors, renewable energy project developers and engineering consulting firms. Our principal areas of expertise are Infrastructure, Onshore Renewables, Ports and harbours, Structures, Offshore and Research & Development.

In the role of Metocean Engineer, you will primarily be office based, working closely with a passionate and ambitious team of engineers and geoscientists in the metocean team. Commercial work will include metocean and seabed mobility numerical modelling-based studies, both for the offshore, and for ports and harbour sectors. The role would suit an engineer or oceanographer who has at least 2 – 3 years MIKE 21 numerical modelling experience and who is interested in developing knowledge and skills in these areas.

Key responsibilities will also include:
• Responsible for delivering MIKE 21 numerical modelling-based work packages including metocean and seabed mobility scopes of work for the offshore wind sector, and for ports and harbour-based projects.
• Responsible for delivering metocean analysis and interpretation-based reports
• Mentoring junior staff

Expertise required:
• Proven MIKE 21 numerical modelling experience
• Understanding of metocean processes including wind, wave, water level and currents.
• Knowledge of coastal processes and offshore seabed morphodynamics
• Experience in metocean data analysis and interpretation
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Education/ Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Oceanography or Geoscience.
3 years relevant post-graduate experience
